Above Ground membrane solution on a listed cottage in Wetherby
The 400 year old cottage suffered from extensive damp and our solution was to fit membranes to the inner walls as conventional Damp Proof Course systems would not work, owing to the thickness of the wall. The project was completed with minimal disturbance to the occupants and ahead of schedule. The over-ground waterproofing solution added significant value to the house and the guarantee gave the owners piece of mind into the future.
Designer's comments: Damp is a difficult problem to fix in old houses. Membrane solutions provide a physical barrier and offer a modern solution. In this project it was imperative that the solution chosen by completely hidden to maintain the traditional charm of the house. This was achieved and the house is no longer damp.
