Basement conversion in terraced house, Saltaire
Converting basement space can make a good house into a great house! Our clients in Saltaire, near Bradford, had a 70m2 basement and were looking for a conversion to make a kitchen and additional living room. They wanted to keep lots of storage space, and have clutter free living.
A new layout was designed to utilise all the space, whilst also maximising storage for washing machines, bikes and sports equipment.
The basement was lined in Newton 508 clear membrane on the walls and floor, coupled up with a Newton NP150 pumping system.
Octopus Building Services undertook the whole project from Building Regulations, through structural waterproofing and onto the final fit out. The kitchen was finished with a real wood floor and striking high gloss kitchen.
The whole project took 9 weeks from start to finish.
Designer's notes: Our client successfully added 70m2 of space to their property, and transformed their basement into the centre of the house. The client understood the importance of waterproofing and was keen to benefit from our comprehensive 10 year guarantee. It's added value, and also means that the house is big enough for their growing family!
